Come celebrate with us! On Friday, September 4, Ely’s Historic State Theater will be celebrating its 90th birthday. A black-tie gala designed to celebrate the State Theater that has welcomed generations of people through the doors and kept arts, film, and community life active in downtown Ely.
Your $50 ticket gets you:
- Cocktail hour with delicacies from Boundary Waters Catering in the 3rd Space lounge.
- Specially crafted 1930’s/1940’s cocktails, as well as our usual wine, and beer selections for purchase in the lounge. (5:30-6:45 pm)
- The Sectionals performance in the State, followed by the world premiere of a short film by Brett Ross with interviews of important people about the theater, followed by welcome remarks. (7:00-8:00 pm)
- Lighting of the ceremonial birthday cake, complete with champagne and a cupcake (8:00-8:30 pm)
- Music and maybe even some dancing! (8:30-9:30 pm.)
